Heartbeat Ensemble present Athol Fugard's A Lesson from Aloes from 8-17 October 2026 at the Goodwin Theater inside the Austin Arts Center in Hartford.
The director is Vernice Miller with lighting design by Margo Caddell. The cast are Brian Jennings, Rebecka Jones, and Godfrey L. Simmons, Jr.
"Set in 1963 during apartheid-era Port Elizabeth, the play explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and endurance through the reunion of an anti-apartheid white Afrikaner couple and their Black activist friend who has recently been released from prison".
