Applaud company who shamelessly advertised their production of Crave prior to discussion getting started; will be interested in what they do with the text. Just to announce myslf: am currently a student at Warwick University who will be writing a dissertation on Sarah Kane's plays in performance, focusing on the subject of 'the divided self' in all works. Shameless publicity ploy: I will also be playing the part of 'B' in a production of Crave that is performing at the Edinburgh Festival from 1st-25th August @ the Underbelly (www.underbelly.co.uk - go check it out, esp. in June when details will be updated). Know my words but rehearsals will not be commencing until 20th June, so any sugestions/thoughts on what people might have thought was missing from previous productions they've seen would be interesting. Having seen the highly faited student production at the National Student Drama Festival, my ownly critcism was that they interpreted the relationsips between B/M, A/C so literally as to negate the possibility that it is four voices in one mind. The whole team (by Failbetter productions by the way) is determined to do justice to Kane's text, so the more ideas we accumulate the better. Am ever conscious of B's opening line "f*ck this up andI'll haunt you for the rest of your f*ckinglife". Thoughts welcome. Additionaly, would like to offer anyone whose participated in this 'forum' discounted tickets for our performances. Thanks for you time, Chris x
