This comes from her interview in 'Rage and Reason' by Heidi Stephenson and Natasha Langridge, a 1997 book comprising interviews with 20 female playwrights. I thoroughly recommend this book.

I was wondering if anyone could help me find a reference for one of Sarah Kane's quotations. It begins like this: 'Sometimes we have to descend into hell imaginatively in order to avoid going there in reality...' The quotation came up on my extended essay exam paper (I'm a third year English student), and it would be really helpful if I could find out where it came from. Thanks!
