Title: Metamorphosis film
Post by: cwren on February 09, 2009, 10:23:49 PM
I am desperately looking for a copy of Metamorphosis – the one filmed for TV.  I had a VHS copy at my last school and no longer have it.  Is it purchasable anywhere do you know?

This is the version with Tim Roth and Steven Berkoff.  It is worth seeing, but disappointingly it does not make much use of the metal frame, which is so stunning in any live performance.
It has never been officially issued, but it does crop up every so often on eBay.  It is worth setting up an eBay alert for it.

There is a good amateur version on-line

It suffers from the use of a single camera from the side of the stage, but I like it.

I just added excerpts of the Baryshnikov Metamorphosis, plus a short comment from Berkoff, and a very hostile review
