Savage Messiah: Ken Russell / Van Gogh with Spike Milligan
« Last post by Iain Fisher on June 02, 2021, 06:20:31 PM »
In the DVD commentary for Always on Sunday Brian Hoyle says that Ken and British comedian Spike Milligan (the subject of a documentary by Ken) discussed a film on Van Gogh with Milligan in the title role.  Ken decided to wait until he had the opportunity to film it in colour rather than in black and white.

An interesting interview and Nureyev's behaviour was pretty bad.  I will add some of this to the Valentino page.

Michelle Phillips was recently interviewed on "Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast!."  In the second part of the interview she briefly talks about working On "Valentino."  Very fascinating recounts on how difficult and abusive Rudolph Nureyev was on the set.  She also wasn't too fond of Leslie Caron.  However, she loved Ken!!!  The clip starts at the 4:36 mark of the second part of the interview, which aired on the 3rd of May.  I think the whole interview is worth listening to.
