Desert Island Discs

Desert Island Discs is a BBC radio programme, running since 1942.  Each week a celebrity has to imagine he will be standed on a desert island, and what 10 records would they want with them.

Steven's choice was:

1. Kecak Ganda Sari / Kecak: Introduction

2. Henry Blair & Ray Turner / Sparky's Magic Piano

3. The Dave Brubeck Octet / Fugue On Bop Themes

4. Johann Sebastian Bach / suite for Solo Cello No. 1 in G Major - 1st movement/ Soloist: Paul Tortelier

5. Benjamin Britten I know a bank (from A Midsummer Night’s Dream) Soloist: Alfred Deller, the London Symphony Orchestra

6. Philip Glass / Koyaanisqatsi / The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Conductor: Eberhard Wachter

7. Richard Strauss / Wo ist er, dessen SĂĽndenbecher jetzt voll st? (from Salome) / Soloist: Eberhard Wachter, The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra

8. Sir Laurence Olivier / The Song Of Deborah

If he was only allowed one of these it would be the Koyaanisqatsi.
He is also allowed a book- Berkoff chose a gardening book, and a luxury item- a piano

It was broadcast on 12 Jan 1992.  The link is here
