The Donmar Warehouse, a very good theatre in London, is doing a season of TS Eliot's work staging The Family Reunion plus rehearsed readings of The Cocktail Party and Murder in the Cathedral. There are also two days of poetry reading.
I am going to most of this, and the first event was one of the poetry readings (Prufrock, Portrait of a Lady, Agon, The Waste Land).
The readers were not announced in advance. They turned out to be Eileen Atkins, Charles Dance, Edward Fox- the first two being particularly good bringout the Eliots humour and ear for speech. But half way through they said that Harold Pinter was also planned to be there, reading The Hollow Men, but be was ill and could not make it. Pinter reading The Hollow Men would have been stunning. Next time maybe...
I have seen him on stage a couple of times, the last time in No Mans Land. He has a commanding presence.
