Brecht and Turandot

I just saw Turandot by Brecht at the Hampstead Theatre, London.  Strangely it was the British premiere run of the 1953 play.

Interesting to see the Berkoff influences in the production.  There was a slow motion fight sequence with sticks, nicely choreographed.  And the use of simple props which become different things- two chairs which were then put together to make a speakers rostrum.

The director was Anthony Clark and the designer was Garance Marneur.
