Sarah Kane's Cleansed is performed in Houston, USA from 5- 27 April 2024.  It is on at the Catastrophic Theatre in Houston, USA.

The directors are Jason Nodler and T Lavois Thiebaud. The actors are Raymond Compton, Bryan Kaplún, Ruben Ramires, T Lavois Thiebaud, Chuck Vaughn, Abraham Zeus Zapata and Walt Zipprian.

"Kane’s work continues to be performed extensively throughout the world and she has developed a cult-like following in many Western countries. Yet this production will mark only the fourth time her work has been seen in Houston. The first was Infernal Bridegroom’s Phaedra’s Love, also under Nodler’s direction, followed by Catastrophic Theatre’s Crave in 2011 and 4.48 Psychosis (2021)".

Athol Fugard's Valley Song is on at the Steamer No. 10 Theatre, Albany, NY from 22-24 March 2024.

"A poor yet dignified war veteran who is devoted to his vegetable furrows in a remote South African province, Buks is anxious to shield his dreamy, restless granddaughter Veronica from temptations beyond the valley. She is equally anxious to be a singer in faraway Johannesburg. Her self-made songs brim with the longings of youth, seeking the courage to embrace the future while her grandfather searches for the wisdom to let go of the past".

The director is Jean-Remy Monnay.

My Children! My Africa! is on at the John and Angeline Oremus Theater, Illinois.  The dates are 26, 27 April and 3, 4 May 2024.

The play is directed by Dr. Craig Rosen

"The great South African playwright confronts the tragedy of apartheid in his native land in this compelling tale about the efforts of a humble and humane black teacher in a segregated township to persuade just one young person that education, not violence, is the answer to South Africa's problems".

Steven Berkoff discussion / Lovelock Hostage Bridge

The 'Lovelock Hostage Bridge', will feature thousands of padlocks autographed by well-known figures, symbolising solidarity with those still held captive by Hamas.  The opening, taking place at London's Jewish Community Centre, JW3, in Finchley Road, Hampstead, UK on Sunday, February 11 at 11.30am.

Steven Berkoff as well as Maureen Lipman, Simon Schama, Martin Sorrell, Howard Jacobson, Simon Sebag Montefiore and Luciana Berger will be attaching their signed padlocks to the bridge.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for all these.  I have watched a few of the videos, all good stuff, music and stunning imagery.  I liked the Edinburgh reference, I always though of Edinburgh as a city of various levels.

Clouds of Glory is better than my copy.  I was at the BFI filming (Melvyn Bragg was there).  Good seeing it on a large screen and an even better copy but still still with some damaged film.  The  BFI said their copy was very fragile, but is the best copy still around.
