Post by: archive on August 19, 2007, 06:46:30 PM
Hello ! Does anybody know what the season's rain stand for at the end of each scenes, in Blasted ? Do you think the play really lasts in four seasons or is it only an image ? Thanks very much for your help !!!

The rain is very intresting as it dose give the play a greater length. I think that the story dose last a year, as that would make sence. It is also a lonelynes issue, that haveing lost his sight and being trapped the sounds outside are the only way that Ian can tell the passing of time, and if you listern you can hear the differnce between the rain in differnt seasons (though at the court last year instead of rain they had Static, perhaps the worse sound design I have ever herd and yes being a SD myself I am very critical) But really it is the sound of the rain that is the only sence of passing time that there is left.

Thank you very much for your help Jaidn ! I think this is clearer to me now. Again Sarah seems to have left the way open to different interpretations here.
