John Lennon in movie Tommy???

At the time of Rock n Roll Lennon couldn't leave the USA- if he did he wouldn't be allowed back in.  I don't know how long this lasted before he got his official visa but it took some years.

But anyway The Beatles have had every second of their lives documented and if Lennon had been in the film we would have heard of it by now, I am sure.  Still it is a nice excuse to watch the film again.

It took me ages to find Ken in the film, mainly because I forgot he had a beard then, and also I wasn't looking at the people in the wheelchairs.  It now seems so obvious.

Some Beatle connections:
- Ringo of course acted in Lisztomania
- Billion Dollar Brain is one of the few films to feature Beatles music (presumably it was so early in their career and it was only later they restricted the use of their music)
- When I'm Sixty Four, a film that never got made but would have feature different directors filming segments based on Beatles' music, I assume with the music performed by other people.  A bit like a pop Aria

Correction to my last reply. Most of the Rock N Roll sessions were in 73. Lennon was doing Walls and Bridges in 74. Who knows.

I would say it's pretty unlikely.

Tommy was shot entirely in Britain in 1974-75 and Lennon had relocated permenantly to the US by '72.

However some of those people look familiar...thought I glimpsed Phil Spector in one of those cars, too. Specter was (marginally) producing Lennon's Rock N' Roll album at the time.

Maybe I'm just seeing things. Tommy has a tendency to do that!

Hi. I am a big John Lennon fan and also am a fan of The Who and love the Tommy movie. My question is: Is John Lennon in one of the cars in this movie or is it just someone that looks A LOT like him? I read on a blog of a Who site (I'm guessing it is a fan of The Who) said that John Lennon wasn't in the movie and it is a guy that looks just like him. However, on either IFC (Independent Film Channel) or Sundance Channel (forget which now) they said he is in one of the cars. So I am very confused now! LOL! So can anyone officially verify whether or not he is in this? Thanks.
