I would say that C is a creative, poetic person, and that while some of her anecdotes are scenes from her own life, others are simply the creations of her imagination.

one thing... i'm also doing a paper based on crave, however i must relate it to knowledge. Now I am wondering if the young woman... or C is actually saying the truth to what happened to her? Can someone with a good heart and a good touch of comprehension with plays give me some info. thanks.

An attempt at a summary, if a little simplified: the characters speak their emotions relating to the issues detailed in my last 2 postings, until, in the end B comes to the conclusion there is no way out of his pain, C (possibly) decides to kill herself (we are not 100% sure), M seems to decide her chance of a child has gone and her relationship with B is a mutually destructive, yet addictive, one, and all the characters go 'into the light, happy and free' - this can be interpreted several ways: death, whether by natural causes, accident or suicide; the redemptive light of love (they decide to try and make the relationships work); freedom from their pain (expressing their emotions has released them), or even the freedom of being newly single (some people do feel a sense of release after a troubled relationship breaks up).

Whoops, I went on for longer than I intended there, but that's the thing with Crave, it's open to so many interpretations. Hope you get this on time anyway and that this helps.

Best wishes, Jess

You should also note that C is highly prone to introspection, and to depressive and suicidal thoughts.

Well, here's part of my interpretation for what it's worth:

A is truly in love with C - see his monologue - but has abused her during their relationship; C had a troubled childhood; M senses her biological clock ticking and wants a baby - and is looking to B to give her one; B partly wants to be free from the strain of his difficult relationship with M, yet is partly locked into loving her.

There's much more to the play of course, but hope this is some help.

Hi Leah. The trouble is that Crave doesn't have a plot or story line as such, the characters are simply stating their emotions. Try all the articles on Crave on the Links-Plays page on this web site; they should give you all the information you need. Good luck with the paper!
