What about "Port Elizabeth in Bygone Days" by JJ Redgrave.  Amazon and Abebooks both have it, though it is expensive at $35.  I've not read it myself so can't say how appropriate it us.

congratulation on this great web site!

need a recommendation on a good  book about the history of port Elizabeth town...

for am working on research about Fugard's port elizabeth plays and it has something to do with the setting and its history
