Thanks for sharing your story, Randeep. I'm an ex-depressive myself, Sarah was a great inspiration to me in using my own writing as therapy and helping me recover. It's great to hear that she is still changing people's lives for the better. Best wishes, Jess

MY THERAPY- SINNAKAUR

I WAS INTRODUCED TO SARAH KANE IN LATE 1999 BY MY 'A' LEVEL ENGLISH LIT TEACHER. SHE SAID "I THINK SARAH KANE WOULD BE RIGHT UP YOUR STREET". MY ANNOYANCE WAS THAT I DID NOT LIKE PEOPLE THINKING THEY KNEW ME& WHAT I LIKED BUT THE THOUGHT WAS NICE AND I OBTAINED A COPY OF BLASTED...OH MY GOD! YES IT WAS UP MY STREET. SUCH PASSION&POETRY GOT ME HOOKED ON THIS GENIUS OF AN AUTHOR AND HUMAN-BEING. AS I REACHED MY FINAL YEAR OF 'A' LEVELS I GOT MY THEATRE STUDIES TEACHER IN THE THEATRE AND ACTED OUT SOME OF 4:48 PSYCHOSIS. IT SEEMS WEIRD BUT WHEN I READ THAT, IT MADE ME THINK ABOUT DEPRESSION AS I TOO HAD BEGAN TO SUFFER FROM IT FROM THE AGE OF 17- WHICH I STILL SUFFER WITH NOW. THIS WAS MY THERAPY, THE WORDS ON THE PAGE BECAME SOME OF MY LIFE. AND NOW IN UNIVERSITY WHERE I AM STUDYING AN ACTING DEGREE, I TAKE EVERYDAY AS IT COMES AND NEVER FORGET THAT AS LONG AS I HAVE SARAH KANE'S WORK AROUND ME, IT WILL REMIND ME TO KEEP AND GOING AND HOPEFULLY ONE DAY DO SOMETHING TO INSPIRE OTHERS THE WAY SHE INSPIRED ME. MANY THANKS SARAH, WHERE EVER YOU ARE, I'M SURE YOUR WORKING YOUR MAGIC. RANDEEP
