Some more, it does seem a good topic, and it would be good assessing comparisons and differences between say The Dumb Waiter and The Underroom.

Hi,

Michael Billington's biography of Pinter is worth checking, for example the section Playwright in Waiting dealing with Hothouse

The British Museum have theses which you can download for free.  For example:

- "The city and landscapes beyond Harold Pinter''s rooms" by Dilek Inan covers different territory (away from the caged landscape) but may still have insights

- "Harold Pinter and the performance of power: Considerations of affect in select plays, screenplays and films, poetry and political speeches" by Basil Chiasson

There are various others on Pinter and on Bond.

I just finished Antonia Fraser's diary of her life with Pinter, useful but not for your topic.

Hi all,

I'm Farah H. Ali, M.Sc in English Literature/ University of Baghdad. I'm trying to pursue my Ph.D.in Britain. I'm considering treating the theme of caged existence in Edward Bond and Harold Pinter plays. Anyone with a good idea where to start? I'm supposed to write a proposal and it just occurred to me that it is fine to write on this aspect. Anyone with other suggestions? better ones?
