I agree 100%. We are excited to be working on this show. Hopefully audiences will welcome one of the great British Playwrights.

"I think it's sad that her work isn't produced here in the states more like it is all over the world." From San Francisco: I tried to get permission to do a performance (staged reading, actually)of Crave last year and was denied by her agent. No explanation, just: "We're sorry to have to tell you that the rights you request are not available and so you may not go ahead with your proposed readings." I can only surmise that we were denied because we are not a "professional" group. And what does professional mean? Not getting paid. As long as that is part of the criteria for permission her work will not be performed that much in the States. Which is a real shame since there are so many really great actors(at least in San Francisco)capable of doing justice to her work. If the smaller (NOMADIC--without a home) companies were able to perform her work then audience interest would follow and perhaps the larger monied companies would be galvanized enough to follow suit. Given the current state of affairs in the world right now, I think it's really tragic that a play like Blasted is not being performed more in the U.S.

Hello Eugenia, I heard about your production in N.Y. I was just up there and talked with Tom Bullard who commented on your show. I would love to talk sometime and hear all about it.

Hello, I'm directing Crave in May here in Fort Worth, Texas. I admire her work greatly and I think this message board has been a great resource. It's good to hear about people that appreciate some work with substance. I think it's sad that her work isn't produced here in the states more like it is all over the world. I'm really excited to see how an audience responds.

It also came to me while I was working on the play what MNO meant. I think people have talked about it before but here is my take on it. MNO comes from the phone so I think it was said before that she only dialed six times and couldn't call. I think it means that the character is dialing 666. Please let me know what you think.
