we've been discussing the peculiar (as in unique) form of "Blasted." what about "Cleansed," though? what do you think is the aim of moving completely away from realism? in having just short DISJOINTED scenes, no exposition (and, hence, hardly any information on the characters' past (or present, for that matter) life & experiences), and, also, its clipped obscure dialogue (i know sarah was going for SUBtext - but what do you feel is the aim? surely, more than leaving it up to the spectator to decide? talking of spectators, what do you think could the effect be? and to what end?)
i know, loads of discuss points - just interested in your thoughts

as part of my a level drama course I have spent 4 months cutting(part of the course) and staging a production of 4.48. I have found all your comments interesting and wd like to reiterate what Giovanni said about starting this forum up again because I think Sarah Kanes work is beautiful and extremely relevent I wd also like to observe that all the people writing here seem to be pretty intelligent and whoever that anti sarah kane guy was he was clearly unintelligent(check out the spelling, arrogant and patronising. Hit a bit of a raw nerve...anyway it wd be nice to have a chat with u guys...
