The Planets has been re-released on DVD and Blu-ray.  Both have the same content, the film and as the only extra the 90 second introduction by Melvyn Bragg (this is called a "special feature").  A pity as a commentary would be great.

The booklet includes a three page essay in English, then French then German.

So in effect no extras, but it is good to have the film on DVD and Blu-ray, a film I once disliked but now I realise how wrong I was.

"Mahler" is available on BD from Japan, and mighty fine it is too!
"Lair of the White Worm" is available in HD online.

Have you seen or know more about "Holst: The Planets" and/or "The Rainbow"? A Spanish Blu-ray sounds a bit iffy. It might just be an upscale and look terrible...

Here's the current status of Russell's work available on blu-ray.

Elgar (UK)
Always on Sunday (UK)
The Debussy Film (UK)
Isadora Duncan (UK)
Dante's Inferno (UK)
Song of Summer (UK)
Billion Dollar Brain (US)
Tommy (US and UK)
Valentino (US and UK)
Altered States (US)
Holst: The Planets (region free, I think)
Crimes of Passion (US and UK, coming soon)
The Rainbow (Spanish blu-ray, region B)

In regards to other films, Criterion has Mahler (they had it streaming on Hulu a
while back), and there are rumors circulating that they also have Women in Love
and the Music Lovers (from an earlier MGM deal).

The Devils, The Boy Friend, Savage Messiah, and Liszotmania all reside with
Warner Bros. (so it's anyone's guess as to who could license these for eventual
release).

Russell's films for Vestron: Lair of the White Worm, The Rainbow, and Salome's Last Dance are controlled by Lionsgate (I think).
