Title: Party Time and Mountain Language
Post by: Iain Fisher on December 09, 2008, 08:39:11 PM
Two Pinter plays in London.

The Impulse Company are performing Party Time and Mountain Language (one of my favourite plays).  They are at the Landor Theatre in London from 16-20 Dec 2008.  The company describe them as:

"The two one-act plays are from Pinter’s later, more political writings, and in The Impulse Company’s pairing make a powerful joint statement about today’s governments and the actions they take in our name.  Party Time was originally written for television and is here adapted for an unusual promenade staging, implicating our audience in the events of the play.  The second play, Mountain Language, is a short, brutal look at means by which our governments deprive us of rights."

The website of the theatre is www.landortheatre.co.uk (http://www.landortheatre.co.uk) (but the plays are not yet mentioned there).
