I think in terms of DVD release it isn't about charging more, but creating a new demand.  It is actually boring watching a DVD wearing cheap 3D glasses (well my experience is limited to Gothic and a television showing of Jaws 3 so maybe I am not an expert).

In the cinema in London 3D prices are higher (but only seen one, A Christmas Carol, excellent).

The Star Wars films are being converted which will give George Lukas some more millons to play with.

Can they now charge more for it, than the 2-D version, like they do when you see a movie in 3-D in theaters?

More 3D versions I am waiting for:
- Brief Encounter
- My Dinner with Andre
- Lolita

and of course:
- Elgar
- Mindbender

My copy arrived and I watched some scenes.

As you would expect, pretty bad.  The scenes that needed to be "in your face" weren't, and the 3D was often simply people talking close, with the background further away.  Obviously a cheap conversion from the original, but why this film- why not Tommy for example?

Still, expect a massive surge in polularity as Gothic 3D becomes a blockbuster rivalling Avatar.

Has anyone seen this? What's it like? Was Gothic filmed in 3D originally, or have they converted the movie?

I think it is kind of hilarious.. but why on earth would they release this??
