I'd love a French Dressing DVD with lots of extras.

My ideal:
- deleted scenes
- commentary by Ken
- second commentary by Mark Kermode.

Thanks for the update and I hope you have a good 2010.

Hey Iain, still no word from Canal / Optimum on home video release for French Dressing, but my collection has grown since the screening. Many press photos of Marisa taking a bath surrounded by the mayor - Bryan Pringle and members of his council suggest a funny scene that didn't make the cut. Undoubtedly it will probably never be seen again, a shame as the film really needs that little bit more to save it from it's troubled life.

Thanks and happy new year

They refer to him as an "Oscar-winning director". Unfortunately, no; he was nominated for Women in Love, but only Glenda Jackson took home an Oscar for that film.

Interesting video.  He mentions Moll Flanders (probably not going ahead) and Boadicea Bites Back described as a cycle of songs, a cine-opera.

My one is an original full size poster, 27 inches by 39 inches.  It is now framed, as is my other poster for Savage Messiah.

I can't remember where I got them.  Ebay seems likely but I have a feeling I got them from somewhere else (both separately).

Hiya.

Is your poster an original full size? How big is it and where did it come from? I had 2 original theatrical posters used in cinemas (1 is now framed/signed the other I gave to Ken).

I've been looking for an original of that one for a long time (one dodgy looking website was offering a reprint on canvas for 200 pounds! :-\ ).

Hi Nicholas

A French Dressing website will be superb, it is an underrated film.  Let us know when your site is up and running- don't let it be too long!  And the film on DVD will be even better

Which poster do you have? My one is:

Hi Iain

I run the 'never-to-be-online' - haha fansite for French Dressing - 'French Dressing Central'. I love your site it's topped up my info bank over the years.

The screening was a great success maybe apart from Ken's usual mischief speech - he had apparently met the bellydancer from the film earlier in the day and was promised a private show haha - tut tut. I took along my original poster, presented my collection to Ken, he was surprised to see so much and to learn that Marisa and Booth had both gone. With the handover of my second poster, Ken promises to support a retail release of French Dressing, which I am now in talks with the film's current licensee 'Optimum Releasing' any further updates I'll keep you posted with.

There is an open-air screening of French Dressing in the Memorial Park, Herne Bay, Kent, UK as part of the Herne Bay Festival.  It is on 22 Aug 2008 at 8.00. Ken will be there in person to introduce the film.  Thanks to Neil for the info.

I wish I could see French Dressing on a  big screen!!!
