FYI. If you're thinking of attending the screenings of Tommy and The Devils on 29th July at the BFI, then Tommy has about 20% of seats remaining for sale, but Grandier and co. has now sold out.

It is now 29 Jun 2011, and Tommy and The Devils will be shown.  Mark Kermode will be there and hopefully Ken.

Ken presents a screening of Tommy at the British Film Institute, London on 31 Jul 2001.  There is a planned Q&A with Ken, though ill-health may mean this does not occur.

A very late reply.  I love A Hard Day's Night and I would put it above the others.  But Help! was poor.

Jailhouse Rock was good, and of course Tommy.  I never really liked Quadrophenia.

Can I place "Jailhouse Rock" and "Tommy" ahead of "A Hard Day's Night?" I certainly enjoyed those two films much more than I enjoyed "A Hard Day's Night?"

I might just have to checkout the list, just to see where "Help!" the sequel to "A Hard Day's Night" placed.

As for "Walk the Line," it would seemingly go better on a list of the best country 'n' western films, then on a list of the best rock 'n' roll films.

Q Magazine has voted Tommy the 9th best rock'n'roll film.

Jailhouse Rock was 25
Purple Rain 24
The Harder they Come 11
The Ruttles 10
Control 8

The top five is
5 Walk the line (good film but number 5??)
4 Performance
3 A Hard Day's Night
2 Quodrophenia
1 This is Spinal Tap (by coincidence on TV now, watching it even though I have it on DVD).
