Southbank Publishing Announce Release Of Ken Russell AutobiographyPosted at 12:19PM Wednesday 13 Aug 2008
Southbank Publishing has just announced the publication of a new and fully updated edition of the autobiography of Britain's most controversial film director, Ken Russell, whose hit films include Women In Love, The Devils, Gothic and the rock-opera, Tommy.
'A British Picture', has been substantially updated by Russell to include more recent events in his life such as his surprise appearance on the reality TV show, Celebrity Big Brother', the devastating house fire that destroyed all his possessions and left him temporarily homeless, and his much publicised internet search for a wife. Russell subsequently met and married his current wife, Elize, who he had first met thirty years earlier when she was a film student. Elize Russell provides a new afterword to the book.
The updated edition also has an exclusive new foreword by Russell's friend and former collaborator, Melvyn Bragg.
Russell will be discussing his book at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival on Saturday 11th October and a slew of high profile publicity is guaranteed including major interviews and features in the national press and prime-time appearances on top-rated TV and radio shows throughout the autumn.
