It really bothered me to learn that one of Ken Russell's biggest allies in the film world has died. Without Dan Ireland, I don't think "Salome's Last Dance," "The Lair of the White Worm," "The Rainbow," and "Whore" would have seen the light of day. I was also pleased to learn that he also a big supporter of Paul Verhoeven's early Dutch films. The guy had great taste. I attached a link to the Variety Obituary below.
