Title: Pinter and Joan Bakewell
Post by: Iain Fisher on December 30, 2010, 06:21:41 PM
Craig Brown in the Daily Mail 15 Oct 2010 imagines the diary entries of various people.  The parody includes Joan Bakewell.

"December 1, 1978 Joan Bakewell: Broadcaster and ex-lover of playwright Sir Harold Pinter

I am at home when a parcel is delivered. It is a set of blank pages. I recognise it as a new work by Pinter. To my horror, I recognise the silences as our own. They are all there, for the world to see. He has obviously decided to break the silence surrounding the silence. Can I ever forgive him?"
