Salome's Last Dance vs. Lair of the White Worm

Salome's Last Dance, hereafter also known as SLD.
Lair of the White Worm, hereafter also known as LOTWW.

Re-watching the seduction scene from SLD on youtube, I was struck by how similiar it was to the similiar scene in LOTWW, and I wondered if Wilde inspired Russell, especially as the films came out the same year or 1988.

Seducers
Both are female.
Both are sexually experienced.
Both are killed at the end of the film.
Both are exotic in appearance, but otherwise, no great beauty.

Victims
Both are male.
Both are sexually inexperienced or virgins.
Both are sexually assaulted.
Both are murdered for religious reasons.

Differences
In SLD, the victim is an older man, while in LOTWW, the victim is an underaged teen
In SLD, the seducer is an underaged teen, while in LOTWW, the seducer is an older woman.
Which in SLD makes the seducer younger than her victim, while in LOTWW, the seducer is older than her victim.

Also the language in SLD is florid and poetical, while the language in LOTWW is realistic and practical.

Next time: it is all in the details
