I think the present will move to the past, so respect will increase.

The Past = everything before the Noughts

The Present: unable to get money to make his kind of movies. Reduced to making home movies.

The Past: "The Devils" "The Rape of Christ" Just because.

The Past: "Women in Love" The nude wrestling. Because it had seldom been seen before on film.
The Present: "Lair of the White Worm" The scene with the lady and the boy scout. Because of the age of the young actor involved in the scene.

The Past: Gets respect for his work.
The Present: Gets little or no respect for his work.

Television
The Past: Best known for his biographies on British artists.
The Present: Best known for his appearance on "Celebrity Big Brother."
