Period Piece
Makes it dated and cheap.
The datedness and cheapness is interesting. More interesting than the book.
Rules
He does not play by the rules of film making.
He plays by the rules of film making. His rules. "Ken's rules."
Timeline
Whole periods of time are missing. Purposefully.
It is shot in real time.
Finally
Neither program host had seen it. Though, one had seen Crimes of Passion and one had seen Altered States, twice.
Peter Capaldi's 5th theatrical film.
Hugh Grant's 4th theatrical film.
Clever how everyone and everything is introduced and portrayed in it.
Unusual for Ken that it is a B film by an A director.
Wall-to-wall seductions + saxophone accompaniment = film noire?
Bucolic =
2 farmer's daughters +
1 boy scout +
1 faithful family retainer +
1 hick cop +
1 local landowner
What mistakes occur are not bothersome, even the lack of worry by the 3 o'er the 4th being missing.
Next time: Ranker or him
