Just saw it, the full 2 hour 19 minute version, Sky Arts will show a shorter version.  And I managed to buy a DVD of the film, signed by director Tony Palmer.  I doubt it is commercially available yet.

Falls the Shadow: The Life and Times of Athol Fugard has its world premiere showing at the Barbican, London on 28 May 2012.  The film will be introduced by producer Eric Abraham.

"We mark the 80th Birthday of one of the world's most performed playwrights with the world première of Tony Palmer’s new film on the celebrated writer, actor and director Athol Fugard.

Most noted for his plays revealing the shocking reality of South Africa’s apartheid history, the film includes footage of life under the regime and on the infamous Robben Island along with contributions from Nelson Mandela, Nadine Gordimer, Desmond Tutu, F.W. de Klerk, Yvonne Bryceland, John Kani, Alan Rickman and Kathy Bates, and features among others Antony Sher, Ben Kingsley, James Earl Jones, Pieter Dirk-Uys and Janet Suzman."

The film is directed by Tony Palmer.  Click here for more details.
