Some more from Martin Carr.  He reviews the Final Cut version of Apocalypse Now.

It is clear he hasn't actually seen the Final Cut version "Final Cut apparently gives us Coppola’s definitive version... and...promises to be his legacy".  And anyone who has seen the previous final version, Redux, knows Coppola shouldn't tamper with a classic film.  Carr also mentions Eleanor Coppola's documentary on making of the film, and calls it fabled- it is hardly fabled as I have a copy, and it is available on Amazon for £5 (it is called Hearts of Darkness).

Not sure if Carr would recognise Ken's influence on the start of Apocalypse Now either.

Some typical venom on Ken's films "Shot by David Watkin who helped create controversy with Ken Russell’s barmpot crazy religious fiasco The Devils".  It isn't even an article about Ken or The Devils.

The writer is Martin Carr writing in 10tenfilms, 15 Jan 2020.
