Oedipus world premiere Blackeyed Theatre presents Landmark Production of Oedipus. Berkoff´s Oedipus- little-known and never before performed- is a re-telling of the Greek tragedy, and though published in 2000 has never been produced until now. Oedipus tours nationally in the UK: 13- 16 Feb 2008 Wilde Theatre, Bracknell The director is Bart Lee, with a cast of Matthew Rowlands-Roberts, Alison George, Derek Elwood and Adrian McDougall. The composer is Ron McAllister, designer Victoria Spearing, lighting designer Charlotte McClelland, producer Blackeyed Theatre. Thanks to Adrian for the information and the photo. Agamemnon in York, UK
Steven Berkoff's translation of Agamemnon will run from 27 Nov-1 Dec 2007 at the York Theatre Royal. The director is Lisa Blair. Aeschylus' play follows Agamemnon's return from the infamous battle of Troy, along with the implications of the violent actions that surrounded the war. Steven Berkoff's free and modern translation integrates old and contemporary concepts to create a timeless portrayal of conflict, lust and possession in an increasingly relevant commentary on our time.
